We are very proud to present this incredible 1960 Jaguar MK IX. This is a great addition to our inventory. Hailing from San Luis Obispo, CA, the car was restored and previously owned by the former CEO of XKs Unlimited. Those of you who are familiar with the older Jaguars know that this company is well known for it's large inventory of Jaguar parts. Also their former division XK Motorsports which restored these fabulous cars.
The interior of the Mark 9 is all new leather, with wool headliner and Concours standard wood grain. There is also a set of sheepskin over rugs. What we love about this car is the fact that you get the beauty and grace of a Rolls Royce with the performance of a sports car. It is rated at 225 b.h.p. and drives and handles extremely well.
The new wool headliner is in excellent condition. The restored woodwork in this car is exceptional. Restored to the highest quality, this car would win top awards at any show. This clock is not working.
The chrome parts on the car are either new or redone. The rear opera lights are functioning and during restoration there were some accent lights installed under the dash. The paint is still in excellent condition. It has a few little minor surface scratches, but nothing really noticeable. There is a sales brochure as well as the owners handbook.
There is an all new trunk liner and tire cover. The trunk in the Mark 9 is a full 17 cu. ft., ample space for several suitcases or 4 sets of golf clubs.
The radiator has been re-cored, and the heater has been restored. The engine in the MK IX is the special 6 cylinder 3.8 litre Jaguar engine with 70 degree twin overhead high lift camshafts driven by a two-stage roller chain. The cylinder head is of high tensile aluminum alloy with hemispherical combustion chambers developed from "C" and "D" type heads. The 3.8 Litre engine runs very well. The car handles well and is a pleasure to drive. There was a new wiring harness installed front to back. All of the gauges were rebuilt a new wiper motor installed , lights were redone front and rear, new solenoids, and all electrical items are now negative ground.
The frame of the Jaguar is a straight plane steel box section of immense strength, and torsional rigidity ensured by large box section cross members.
All new stainless exhaust system. There are Dunlop 4 wheel disk brakes. There are 2 gas fills for the individual gas tanks. one 11 gallons and the other 9 1/2 gallons. Both tanks have been boiled out and the there are new fuel pumps and the carbs rebuilt.
