Jeeps CJ series was produced from 1944 until 1986. The CJ-5 would boast the longest run with 603,303 produced between 1954 to 1983. This '66 model would have Kaiser influence in the form of the 225 cubic inch Dauntless V6 engine, the design borrowed from Buick.
Garrett Classics is proud to showcase this exceptionally solid & correct 1966 Jeep Willys CJ-5. This classic 4-wheel-drive has spent much of its life in Texas, with 2 owners. It was sold new at Jim McAllee AMC Jeep in Dallas, Texas. This one runs good and is a lot of fun to drive. Be sure to play the special road test & review video of this particular Jeep, see below.
The CJ originally had a black top and seats. When the current owner replaced them, he went with the tan. The paint & body show well. The body panels are straight and any imperfections are minor. There are a few small dents on the hood. This is a dry climate Jeep and it shows. The interior paint and engine compartment are original paint. The body has had a repaint. The dash displays the original functional gauge cluster along with original decals with operating instructions. The 27,571 miles is believed original per the owner & condition.
The upholstery has been replaced and is in great shape front to back. Under the hood is the strong running & correct Dauntless V6 engine. The underbody appears to be very solid front to back.
