1951 was the 2nd year for the stylish Catalina Coupe. Pontiac would also celebrate its 25th anniversary & 4 millionth car off the production line in 1951. This is a mechanically sound car that can be driven. It is powered by the correct 268 cubic inch L-head Straight Eight engine paired with the optional Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The color combination of Turquoise-Blue & white is very attractive. All of the factory brightwork is intact and shows well, including the distinctive Pontiac stainless spears. The optional lighted Indian Hood ornament is mounted proudly. The light is not currently working.
The paint is an older respray of Turquoise-Blue that is in good condition, with some imperfections & flaws on close inspection. You can see some of the paint flaws in the photos. There are some small dings and there appears to be some bondo work in areas. Open the doors to 1951. The interior features quality reupholstered vinyl factory front & rear bench seating. The top of the line Catalina could be ordered in either vinyl or leather. The dash displays striking full factory instrumentation (functional) The clock is not functional. The unique factory Chieftain radio with Treble & Bass adjustment works well.
The original VIN tag is present. The wheels of choice are the factory steel color-keyed rollers paired with full Chieftain wheelcovers & wide whitewall poly-bias tires all around. Closer inspection of the engine bay confirm solid sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. The original trim identification plate is in place. The undercarriage appears to be exceptionally solid throughout.
