This is not your average 78 Volkswagen Beetle. Unlike the standard Beetle of this year,  this one is outfitted with a GEX remanufactured 2110cc engine. The engine has a forged counter balance crank shaft, and new big valve heads.  Not only did the owner install the new engine, he did several other high performance modifications. There are large Venturi Solex carbs, stainless tuned length headers, a Freeway Flyer transmission, with  3:88 gears, high performance front struts and springs, and a heavy duty high cast sway bar. This car handles so much better that the original VW Beetle.

 There are 914 Porsche style wheels and the top and seats are from Germany.   There is a new floor mat and on the passenger side you will see a portion of floor pan is just laying under the mat. We think it's there to just give the floor a more slanted flat contour under the mat. There is obviously no rust under it.   There is a tiny bit of surface rust around the floor in the rear. It is from getting wet at times we're sure. It is not rusted through by any means.   The paint is nice, with a few little rub marks on the front fenders where someone tried to buff out a spot or two. They are so minor that it was hard to even photograph them.     

This is what this car is all about. This 2110cc engine makes this car is a joy to drive. Matched up to the Freeway Flyer transmission, it will amaze people when you pass them on the highway.   The top and seat covers were ordered from Germany.    Come visit us and take a closer look at this quick little car.
