We are happy to have this 50th Anniversary Limited Edition T/A in our inventory. We want to apologize for our previous ad. We had not found the vin# on the lower side of the block. We found it and you will see the photo of it.
The car was originally sold in Southern California and spent most of the first part of it's life there. The last 2 owners were right here in Texas. That explains the really solid undercarriage.
The standard features on the 76 Firebird Limited Edition cars was a 400 ci V-8 and a 4 Speed Manual transmission. The car could be ordered with a 455 and also a Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission, which this one was. You will see the entire window sticker in the photos.
We have documents dating back to the original owner. There is even a business card from the dealer where it was purchased. Original California license plates, registrations and receipts for service. We have the PHS report and as we mentioned the window sticker.
There were only approximately 2590 Limited Editions built. there were 643 Built with Hurst T-Tops. There was such a problem with the way they were being installed by Hurst, that they leaked and caused structural problems. Pontiac stopped the production of the T-Tops and the remainder of the cars were produced without them.
This car is one of 1095 cars with the 400 engine and no T-Tops.
Purchased by the last 2 owners to be driven and enjoyed, it was taken on the Bandit Run 3 times in the past. The last run being the one in 2022. It has performed just great in all 3. The car cosmetically is fair and shows some chips and little cracks in the front bumper, but we only founds a few bubbles in the driver's side rear quarter. They do not go through the metal and appear to be just some surface rust popping up.
The current owner has replaced the door hinges on the driver's side and has included a set for the passenger side. That door still opens and closes fine, but because these doors are so heavy, it will probably need them eventually. The seller also has an extra front grill.
Please take a close look at the undercarriage photos. The car is quite amazing. Other than the very minor surface rust it looks great. The frame is solid as well as the floor pans and inner sides of the rockers.
For performance reasons, the owner has removed the California emissions package. Also we found that the car is correct in everyway and is absolutely the real thing.
The current owner has also done some of the following:
Complete tune up
Rebuilt Carburetor
Replaced the A/C Compressor
Replaced Master Cylinder Booster
Replaced Brake Rotors, Pads on Front
Replaced Drums and Shoes, and Cylinders on Rear
Replaced Tires
Replaced the Air Spoiler in the front (has original one)
New Trunk Mat
Had the dash bezel and shifter plate reconditioned by a guy in Indiana who does that for Pontiac owners.
Had the headlight bezels and grill inserts repainted gold.
Had radiator redone in 2012
This is your opportunity to own a great 50th Anniversary Limited Edition T/A. You can hop in this car and do the next Bandit Run this year.
