We are very happy to present this very nice 74 Barracuda. In decoding the car, we found it was built on December 20th. It is it's original colors of Bright Red paint with full white vinyl top and white and black interior.
The car was born with the 318 ci V-8 and a light duty Automatic transmission. The numbers on both show them to be 1969s. However, not being Mopar experts, some decode sites show the casting number on the block as 65-75, but the numbers on the front of the block say it's a 69.
These 318 5.2L engines were originally rated at 230hp with a compression ratio of 9.2:1. In the 70s that dropped down to 8.6:1. This car runs great and is probably better off performance wise with the 69 engine and tranny.

This is a great car to drive. It performs well and runs great. The only flaw we found is what appears to be a bit of rust forming under the vinyl top just below the rear window, the underside of the rear window area from inside the trunk is solid and just has the slightest bit of surface rust. You will see that in the photos. There are also some hairline cracks in the vinyl on the very top of the roof which aren't through the vinyl. Other than that, the car is in excellent condition.
